University of Sydney Summer Research Scholarship Program
The Science Summer Research Program, awarded through the Denison Research Scholarship, offers second- and third-year undergraduate science students at the University of Sydney the opportunity to undertake a formal supervised 6-week research project during the Australian summer break in the Intensive February session (19 January 2026 to 1 March 2026). Participants engage full-time (35 hours per week) on tailored projects selected from available options (up to 4 applications), gaining valuable research experience, academic and professional skills, and industry connections. With 100 places available, the program enhances student experience and provides insight into potential further research studies while enrolled in the DENR3901 unit.
Successful applicants receive a $3,000 scholarship paid in two instalments, supporting their participation. The program requires enrolment in DENR3901, project agreement with supervisors, and completion of a short assessment. It equips students with practical research skills alongside leading scientific researchers, fostering links to industry and career pathways in science.
