Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program (FMPBP)

The Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program (FMPBP) is part of Global Affairs Canada's International Scholarships Program. It enables professors at Canadian post-secondary institutions to pursue short-term research and/or teaching activities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The primary objective is to create new institutional collaborations or strengthen existing agreements between Canadian and non-Canadian post-secondary institutions eligible under the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP).

Additional notes:Duration: 3 to 8 weeks

  • Maximum grant value: CAD 7,000 per candidate
  • Funding covers: airfare, select living expenses, health insurance, visa or work permit fees, and other eligible expenses
  • Canadian institutions must apply on behalf of eligible professors

This program aims to support Canadian post-secondary institutions in expanding and diversifying their international collaborations, particularly with institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • be a full-time professor at a Canadian post-secondary institution

Canadian post-secondary institutions must:

  • be a Designated Learning Institution  (DLI)

Host institutions must:

  • Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos.
  • Central America: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama.
  • North America: Mexico.
  • South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela.
