Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship is the University of Toronto's most prestigious and competitive scholarship for international students. This scholarship recognizes outstanding global students who excel academically and demonstrate strong leadership skills, creativity, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities and beyond. Named after Lester B. Pearson, a former Canadian Prime Minister and Nobel Prize laureate, the scholarship emphasizes academic excellence, leadership potential, and a focus on global citizenship.
This award provides recipients with the financial and institutional support necessary to thrive in one of the world's leading universities. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, books, incidental fees, and accommodation for four years of undergraduate study. Scholars also gain access to mentorship opportunities, a vibrant peer network, and engagement with the university's alumni and leadership programs.
Only a select group of approximately 37 students is chosen each year, making this scholarship not only a financial boon but also a gateway to a transformative educational experience.
Eligibility Requirements
- An international student (i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit);
- Enrolled in your final year of senior secondary school in 2024/2025 or have graduated no earlier than June 2024
- Beginning your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2025 (students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their post-secondary studies in January 2025 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered).
- Students must be nominated by their high school (each school can nominate only one student per year).
