Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship
The Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (GUIPRS) is awarded via a competitive process to international candidates commencing or enrolled in Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs at Griffith University. It provides a full tuition fee offset, removing the candidate's liability for program tuition fees during the award tenure. Additional benefits include Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration (57 months for PhD), and coverage of Student Services and Amenities Fees.
The scholarship covers tuition fees for up to 3.5 years for doctoral candidates and up to 2 years for Masters by Research candidates. It does not include a living stipend, but can be packaged with separate sponsorships providing at least AUD 36,000 per year for living expenses. Applications are part of the HDR program admission process through the Continuous Scholarship Round.
Selection is based on academic merit, research background, fit with research environment and priorities. The scholarship supports international fee-paying students pursuing research higher degrees in any field available at Griffith University campuses in Australia.
Eligibility Requirements
- Not a domestic student (not Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen).
- Commencing or enrolled in an HDR program at Griffith University.
- Hold a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours or equivalent.
- Have not completed a degree at the same or higher level as the HDR program.
- No more than 12 months prior HDR candidature if seeking recognition.
- Not previously held equivalent scholarship (with exceptions).
- Not in receipt of equivalent Commonwealth tuition offset.
Selection emphasizes academic merit, research outputs, experience, and research fit.
