Jardine Foundation Scholarship
The Jardine Foundation Scholarship, established in 1982 by Jardine Matheson to commemorate its 150th anniversary, provides full scholarships to outstanding students from selected Asian countries to study at partner colleges of the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. The scholarship primarily targets undergraduate courses at specific colleges: Exeter, Oriel, The Queen’s, and Trinity at Oxford; and Downing, Magdalene, Peterhouse, and Trinity at Cambridge. Limited postgraduate scholarships are also available, typically up to four years, for students already accepted to the universities through partnered colleges.
The award covers university tuition fees (paid directly to the university), college fees (excluding board and lodging, paid to the college), an annual stipend for board, lodging, and incidental expenses (paid in installments), the UK Immigration Health Surcharge, and standard economy-class return airfare from the scholar's place of residence to the UK. The foundation aims to develop future leaders committed to their communities, fostering a global network of scholars through events, internships, and alumni engagement. Valued at over $200,000, it supports full-time residential study and requires scholars to engage in leadership and community activities.
