The Monash International Merit Scholarship, also known as the Sir John Monash Scholarship for Excellence, is offered to high-achieving international students from all countries who have received a full undergraduate course offer from Monash University. Recipients receive $15,000 per annum, renewable for the duration of their degree up to a total value of $75,000, paid per year until the minimum number of credit points for the degree is completed. Commencing undergraduate students are also invited to apply for a place in Monash Minds, a leadership program for first-year students.
Eligibility Requirements
- International student (non-Australian/New Zealand citizen or holder of permanent resident visa).
- Received a full Monash course offer with no conditions.
- Intend to enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia.
- Current Monash student.
- Studying an Australian Year 12 (may be eligible for Sir John Monash Scholarship for Excellence instead).
- Commencing in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honors) or Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD).
- Enrolled in Monash Pathway programs (e.g., Monash College, Monash University Foundation Year).
- Transferring from another Monash campus or applying to Monash from another Australian university.
