Rotary Peace Fellowship
The Rotary Peace Fellowship is a fully funded program offered by Rotary International, awarding up to 170 fellowships annually to dedicated leaders worldwide. Fellows study at one of eight Rotary Peace Centers at premier universities, receiving academic training, practical field experience, and global networking opportunities to build capacity as catalysts for peace. The program includes master's degree options lasting 15-24 months with a self-designed 2-3 month field study, and a one-year professional development certificate blending online and in-person learning with a social change initiative.
Fellowships fully cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and expenses for internships and field studies. Master's programs are hosted at institutions such as Duke University/UNC Chapel Hill (USA), International Christian University (Japan), University of Bradford (England), University of Queensland (Australia), and Uppsala University (Sweden). Certificate programs are offered in locations including Thailand, Uganda, and Turkey. Over 1,700 alumni work in governments, NGOs, UN, and more across 140+ countries.
Eligibility Requirements
- Proficiency in English
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace, demonstrated through professional, academic, and service achievements
- Potential for leadership
- At least three years of full-time paid/unpaid work experience in peace or development
- At least three years gap between most recent degree completion (undergrad or grad) and fellowship start date
- Not currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in undergrad/grad program in upcoming year
- Prior Rotary Peace Fellows or Global Grant recipients must wait three years from prior program end
- Not an active Rotary member/employee (Rotaract eligible if not also Rotary member)
- Encourages candidates with disabilities and diverse backgrounds
