University of Groningen Eric Bleumink Fund
The Eric Bleumink Fellowship, offered by the University of Groningen, is a prestigious fully funded scholarship for talented students from developing countries to pursue 1-year or 2-year Master's degree programmes starting in September. The grant covers tuition fees, international travel costs, subsistence (living expenses), books, and health insurance for the entire duration of the programme. Only a limited number of scholarships are available each year despite high demand, with nominations made by the Admission Office and faculty Admission Boards based on outstanding applications.
Candidates do not apply directly for the fellowship but must actively indicate interest upon applying for admission to a Master's programme. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must complete their Master's programme application before December 1 and receive a provisional or unconditional admission offer before February. Nominees are informed by the university, allowing recipients to focus fully on their studies without financial concerns.
This scholarship aims to enhance the academic capacity of recipients' home countries by supporting exceptional talent from least developed nations listed in Appendix 1 on the official page. It contributes to the university's diverse international community and has been awarding grants since 2000.
