University of Manitoba International Graduate Student Scholarship

CanadaGraduateMaster'sEntry ID: SC-69531

The University of Manitoba International Graduate Student Scholarship (IGSS) is designed to support outstanding international graduate students pursuing full-time studies in the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. It includes an entrance scholarship for first-year Master's or Graduate Diploma students and a continuation scholarship for eligible second-year students in two-year Master's programs who received the entrance award. The scholarship amount and number of awards are determined annually by a selection committee based on available revenue and are applied first against international differential tuition fees. It can be held concurrently with the University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) and other internal awards but not with the entrance IGSS (for continuation) or international bursaries.

Awards are offered upon enrollment and registration, with no separate application required—consideration is automatic based on admission GPA and eligibility criteria. Funding is confirmed annually and offered until funds are exhausted. Students in reregistration years paying only continuing fees are ineligible. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence, requiring a minimum GPA of 3.75, and supports international students entering on study permits who are not receiving external tuition funding.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum GPA 3.75 on last 60 credit hours or equivalent two full years of study
