University of Western Australia Global Excellence Scholarship

The University of Western Australia Global Excellence Scholarship is a merit-based tuition fee discount awarded to high-achieving international students commencing eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees in 2026. The scholarship value is determined by the applicant's equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for undergraduates or Weighted Average Mark (WAM) for postgraduates, with no separate application required—eligibility is automatically assessed upon course offer and submission of final academic transcripts. Undergraduate awards range from AUD $6,000 to $12,000 per year (up to $48,000 over 4 years or $60,000 over 5 years for certain combined degrees), while postgraduate awards range from AUD $6,000 to $12,000 per year (up to $24,000 over 2 years). It covers tuition fees only and is provided as an annual discount for the normal full-time duration of the course specified in the offer letter.

Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress, a minimum WAM of 60, and confirm eligibility annually. The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other UWA tuition fee scholarships; the highest value is awarded if eligible for multiple. Certain courses are excluded, such as Assured Pathways to Medicine/Dental Medicine for undergraduates and professional doctorates like Juris Doctor or Doctor of Medicine for postgraduates. Deferrals are assessed case-by-case, and the scholarship applies pro-rata for reduced loads up to two additional semesters.
