The Cambridge Mathematics Open Internships program is a funded summer research opportunity intended for students in mathematics who are in their late undergraduate years (second year and above) or Master's studies at a UK university. This program offers students the chance to gain first-hand experience as researchers at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS) at the University of Cambridge. Participants will conduct their own research projects under the guidance of leading mathematicians, develop research skills, and learn how to communicate their work effectively.
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently registered at a higher education institution in the UK other than Cambridge
- Will have completed at least their second year of undergraduate studies and at most their Master's or equivalent in a mathematical subject when the internship begins in summer 2026
- On track for a First or a 2:1 in your undergraduate degree (as evidenced by your referee)
- Have an interest in undertaking a research postgraduate degree (MPhil or PhD)
- Have not had significant prior research experience
