The Philippa Fawcett Internship Programme is a funded summer research programme intended for women, trans women, and non-binary students in mathematics who are in their late undergraduate (second year and above) or Master's studies. The programme offers an opportunity to gain first-hand experience as a researcher at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (CMS) at the University of Cambridge, working on research projects under the guidance of leading mathematicians.
Eligibility Requirements
- A woman, trans woman, or non-binary student
- Currently registered at a higher education institution in the UK or abroad (University of Cambridge included)
- Will have completed at least their second year (Part IB) of undergraduate studies and at most their Master's (Part III) or equivalent in a mathematical subject when the internship begins in summer 2026
- Able to demonstrate a strong record of academic performance
- Has an interest in undertaking a research postgraduate degree (MPhil or PhD)
- Does not have significant prior research experience
