Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Research Fellowship
The Global Science Scholars program is an up to two-year international postdoctoral fellowship between the U.S. and Japan, designed to advance early-stage careers and catalyze groundbreaking science in bioengineering and biomedical research. It supports researchers conducting work outside their degree-granting country at world-class labs in partner universities.
Fellows receive stipends (US: $75k/year; Japan: 9,600,000 JPY/year), relocation expenses, institutional benefits, and travel funds for convenings. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary biology-technology research, open science, collaboration, and building U.S.-Japan networks for translational impact.
Placement in CZ Biohub partner labs (San Francisco/CA, Chicago/IL, New York) or Japanese institutions like University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, RIKEN. Start by 2025-07-01.
