Humanities Undergraduate Research Fellowship (HURF)

The HURF program is a 16-week fellowship that provides students with the opportunity to engage in intensive research under the mentorship of a faculty member during the winter and spring terms. The program includes weekly meetings where fellows discuss their research, develop research skills, and prepare for future academic or career opportunities. Fellows receive a $2,500 stipend, and their faculty mentors receive a $500 stipend.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Oregon.
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher in UO humanities courses.
- Must have a project proposal and secured faculty mentor before applying.
- The research project must be within the humanities disciplines.
- Only one HURF award is allowed per undergraduate education.
