Indian Institute of Science Summer Research Fellowship
The Indian Institute of Science Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP), offered through the Science Academies' Summer Research Fellowship Program, provides motivated undergraduate and graduate students, as well as teachers from Indian institutions, with an opportunity to conduct two-month research projects under the guidance of scientists associated with the three national Science Academies, frequently hosted at IISc. Participants work on short-term research-oriented projects at premier institutions like IISc, gaining hands-on experience in advanced scientific research across various disciplines. The program supports fellows with round-trip train fare and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses during their stay at the host institution.
Administered jointly by the Indian Academy of Sciences (Bengaluru), Indian National Science Academy (New Delhi), and The National Academy of Sciences, India (Prayagraj), the fellowship emphasizes research aptitude and academic excellence. Selected candidates are assigned a mentor from a list of consenting faculty and scientists, allowing them to contribute to ongoing research while preferably undertaking the fellowship during summer months anytime in 2026. This immersive experience is designed to inspire future careers in scientific research and innovation.
