The Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) at KAUST is a fully funded internship program offering hands-on research experience for 3rd/4th-year bachelor's and master's students in STEM fields. Participants select from over 100 faculty-led projects across 17 STEM disciplines, working in state-of-the-art facilities with renowned researchers in a diverse international community of over 100 nationalities. Internships last 2-6 months with flexible year-round start and end dates, ideal for gaining research skills and preparing for graduate studies.

The program provides comprehensive funding, including a monthly stipend of $1,000 USD, private bedroom and bathroom accommodation, round-trip airfare, access to core laboratories and research facilities, as well as social and cultural activities. Interns collaborate on real-world projects, often leading to conference presentations or publications, and benefit from interdisciplinary opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 3rd/4th-year undergraduate or master's students in STEM fields
  • Minimum GPA 3.5/4.0
  • English proficiency (TOEFL 79+ or IELTS 6.5+ may be required)
  • Required documents: official transcripts, CV, statement of purpose, letter of recommendation, valid passport (>6 months validity)
  • Ineligible: current PhD students, KAUST students/alumni
