The Notre Dame Turbomachinery Laboratory (NDTL) Internship Program offers undergraduate students immersive, hands-on experiences in aerospace and mechanical engineering. Interns collaborate with industry partners and global experts, working on real-world projects under the mentorship of NDTL staff.
The program provides two distinct internship experiences:
- Research Internship: Focuses on developing academic and research skills, allowing students to work with faculty and present their findings, preparing them for advanced studies and research careers.
- Engineering Internship: Offers hands-on experience in aerospace and mechanical engineering, pairing students with mentors to work on real-world projects and gain exposure to industry experts and customers.
Eligibility Requirements
- Academic Background: Applicants must be enrolled as undergraduates in an engineering degree program at a university or college by the start of the summer term. Aerospace and/or mechanical engineering majors are preferred.
- Class Standing: Rising juniors or seniors are preferred.
- Diversity Encouragement: Students belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in engineering (women, underrepresented minorities, and those with disabilities) are strongly encouraged to apply.
