VCU Summer Academic Enrichment Program
SAEP simulates the first-year curriculum of professional schools in dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, and physical therapy. Participants engage in intensive coursework in their chosen tracks, as well as non-credit core classes in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology. The program also includes learning skills and test-taking workshops, mock interviews, professionalism seminars, and community service activities.
Program Benefits
Stipend: Participants receive a modest stipend to cover food expenses.
Housing: Free on-campus housing is provided.
Cost: The program itself is free, but participants are responsible for their travel costs.
Eligibility Requirements
- Level of Study: Open to current juniors, seniors, graduates, and post-baccalaureate students.
- GPA Requirement: Minimum GPA of 2.75.
- Coursework Requirement: Completion of three years of college coursework, including organic chemistry I and II (except for the physical therapy track).
- Citizenship: Must have U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
