Weizmann Institute Summer Science Program
The Kupcinet-Getz International Summer Program is a prestigious 8-week summer research program at the Weizmann Institute of Science for outstanding students in mathematics & computer science, physics, chemistry, or life sciences. Participants join a world-class research group led by a principal investigator, conducting personalized cutting-edge research projects in state-of-the-art labs, such as cancer research, plant biotechnology, sustainable technologies, and advanced materials. The program includes a safety seminar, cross-disciplinary lectures by leading experts, an Effective Presentation Workshop, and culminates in a Mini-Symposium where students present their work to peers and faculty. Students dedicate at least 8 hours daily to research, with Fridays and Saturdays mostly free.
Benefits include no fees, a $1,100 USD stipend (in two installments), up to $400 flight subsidy, free accommodation at Hebrew University’s Faculty of Agriculture dorms, medical insurance (excluding pre-existing conditions), and partial meal subsidies. Extracurricular activities feature a guided institute tour (including historical sites), access to recreation facilities (pools, tennis, fitness), and organized trips around Israel like the Dead Sea and Masada. Since 1971, over 1,100 alumni have advanced their scientific careers through this immersive experience.
