Brunei Government Scholarship for International Students
The Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship for Foreign Students Tenable in Brunei Darussalam (BDGS) for the 2026/2027 academic session is a fully funded scholarship offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to international students pursuing studies at Brunei's higher education institutions, including Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), and Politeknik Brunei (PB). The academic year commences in July/August 2026. The scholarship covers the full duration of the program: typically 4-5 years for undergraduate/diploma, 1-2 years for master's.
Award benefits include exemption from tuition fees (acceptance, examination, registration, orientation), round-trip economy class airfare to/from Brunei, monthly personal allowance of BND 500, monthly meals allowance of BND 150, annual book allowance of BND 600, on-campus accommodation at university/polytechnic residential colleges, baggage allowance upon completion (BND 250 ASEAN, BND 500 non-ASEAN), and comprehensive medical insurance for the scholarship duration. Scholars must adhere to university rules, Brunei's laws and customs, and return home upon completion; no paid employment allowed.

Eligibility Requirements
- International students (not Brunei citizens or permanent residents; primarily for first-time study in Brunei; preference for ASEAN, Commonwealth, OIC member countries).
- Age: Not exceeding 25 years for Diploma/Undergraduate (as of 1 July 2026); not exceeding 35 years for Postgraduate Master's.
- English proficiency: Credit 6 GCE ‘O’ Level, Grade C IGCSE English (second language), IELTS 6.0 overall, or TOEFL 550 minimum.
- Good health; no concurrent scholarships without MFA approval.
