DoD SMART Scholarship-for-Service

The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service fully funds STEM students in exchange for guaranteed civilian employment with the US Department of Defense. Awardees receive full tuition, an annual cash stipend of $30,000–$46,000, health insurance and book allowances, and paid summer internships at DoD facilities. For each year of funding, scholars commit to one year of DoD civilian service after graduation. Notably, eligibility extends to citizens of the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
