EPFL Excellence Fellowship
In order to reward the most outstanding students beginning their Master’s studies, EPFL offers a limited number of excellence fellowships worth CHF 10,000 per semester, along with guaranteed housing for external candidates. These fellowships enable recipients to focus on their studies while engaging in extracurricular activities that build professional experience and cross-disciplinary skills, such as research, entrepreneurship, or civic engagement. The program aims to broaden students' perspectives, allowing them to pursue internships and early career opportunities aligned with their ambitions. Funded through the “Attract Talent” pillar of EPFL's Student Support Program, it is supported by donors including the Basil Panzer Trust, Novartis, and others.
Fellowships are awarded for up to four semesters (three for 90-credit programs), covering the Master's cycle plus project semester. Recipients must cover living expenses like tuition and rent themselves. Renewal for the second year requires at least 50 ECTS credits and a weighted average grade of 5.0/6. A certificate of excellence is provided upon program completion. The fellowship cannot be combined with other major scholarships.
