Slovak Government Scholarship

SKGraduatePhDPostdocEntry ID: SC-11729

The Scholarships of the Government of the Slovak Republic are provided as part of the bilateral development cooperation of the Slovak Republic, implemented by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic under the Medium-term Development Cooperation Strategy for 2025-2030. These scholarships support full-time higher education studies (Bachelor's leading to Master's) at public universities in Slovakia in selected fields such as Teacher Training, Economics and Management, Environmental Sciences, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Wood Science, Forestry, etc. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and a subsistence allowance (around €800/month) for the whole duration of studies. Students are required to pay airfare and initial living costs. Studies are conducted in Slovak after one year of intensive language preparation.

Applications are submitted online via www.vladnestipendia.sk, which activates around 24 March each year, with a deadline typically in late May (25 May 2025 for 2025/2026 cycle). The program is regulated by Act no. 392/2015 Coll. and Decree No. 50/2016. It also includes support for persons with Slovaks Living Abroad status. The scholarship duration aligns with the academic program length, focusing on long-term degree studies rather than short mobilities.
