Uppsala University Global Scholarship
The Uppsala University Global Scholarship, funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, is available to fee-paying international students applying for Master's programmes at Uppsala University. It covers the full tuition fee for the duration of the international Master's programme but does not include living expenses. The scholarship is highly competitive, with only about 2% of applicants receiving it, and is awarded based on academic talent and interest in an educational environment.
Applicants must select an Uppsala University Master's programme as their first priority in the University Admissions application. The scholarship supports studies commencing in the autumn semester, with application periods typically in January-February following the programme application deadline in mid-January. For the 2026 intake, applications closed on 2 February 2026; the next cycle for autumn 2027 opens in early 2027.
Note that certain programmes are ineligible, including the Joint Nordic Master’s Programme in Environmental Law, Master’s Programme in Biology NABiS, Master's Programme in Evolutionary Biology – MEME, and others. Scholarships may vary yearly.
