Harborview Pediatric Injury Prevention Student Internship Training (INSIGHT)
The INSIGHT Summer Research Program at the Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center (HIPRC) offers an intensive, eight-week internship for undergraduate students, graduate students, and first-year medical students. The program focuses on injury and violence prevention research, providing participants with hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Participants engage in mentored, independent research projects alongside health sciences faculty from the University of Washington. The program includes professional development seminars, injury and violence prevention research seminars, and culminates in a research symposium where students present their findings.
Eligibility Requirements
- Academic Standing: Open to current undergraduate students, graduate students, and first-year medical students. Preference is given to undergraduates who will be juniors or seniors in Fall 2025 and to students entering graduate or medical programs in Fall 2025.
- GPA Requirement: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, eligible to work in the U.S., hold a valid student visa, or have DACA status.
- Commitment: Must be able to commit to the entire eight-week program on a full-time schedule.
