Harvard Orthopaedic Trauma Undergraduate Summer Research Internship

This internship offers undergraduates an opportunity to engage in clinical research within the Harvard Orthopaedic Trauma Service, which operates across four Harvard-affiliated Level I Trauma Centers: Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Interns gain practical experience in clinical research and have opportunities to observe clinical environments. Responsibilities include conducting literature searches, interacting with research subjects, data collection and analysis, and potentially contributing to quality assurance projects.

Eligibility Requirements

For Undergraduate Applicants:
All current full-time freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply, provided that they:

  • Are currently enrolled full-time in a 4-year accredited college or university at the time of application
  • Are interested in clinical research and/or considering careers in Medicine or Healthcare
  • Are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents

For Medical Student Applicants
All current full-time first-, second-, and third-year medical students are eligible to apply, provided that they:

  • Are currently enrolled full-time in an accredited medical school at the time of application
  • Are interested in clinical research and/or considering careers in Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents
