Since 2008, MEST's Training Program has trained Africa's tech entrepreneurs from its campus in Accra, Ghana. In 2026 it was redesigned as the MEST AI Startup Program, equipping participants to build globally competitive AI startups: over seven months, teams form around a real AI business idea, build and deploy an MVP, and learn directly from practitioners at Google, Meta, OpenAI, and other leading tech companies. The most promising ventures continue into a four-month incubation phase focused on scaling, customer acquisition, and pitching for pre-seed investment. Participants must commit to seven months of full-time, in-person training in Accra, with a possible additional four months of incubation.
