Minneapolis Heart Institute Clinical Research Internship Program

United States · MinnesotaUndergraduateEntry ID: PR-61492

The Clinical Research Internship Program at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation® (MHIF) is a 12-week summer program designed for undergraduate students who are pre-med or planning a career in medicine. This program offers a unique opportunity to engage in cardiovascular clinical research under the mentorship of physician-researchers at a nationally recognized hospital.

Interns participate in groundbreaking cardiovascular research, shadow physician mentors during hospital rounds, observe procedures including open-heart surgeries, and attend case conferences. The program also includes interactive medical device industry tours and hands-on experiences with cardiovascular specimens. At the conclusion of the internship, participants showcase their research at an open house and poster session, with many having the opportunity to co-author articles in national scientific journals or present at national cardiovascular conferences.
