The Clinical Research Internship Program at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation® (MHIF) is a 12-week summer program designed for undergraduate students who are pre-med or planning a career in medicine. This program offers a unique opportunity to engage in cardiovascular clinical research under the mentorship of physician-researchers at a nationally recognized hospital.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants should be undergraduates or recent graduates from a four-year college who have not yet been accepted to medical school. Preference is given to those who have completed their junior year by the start of the internship; however, strong candidates who have completed their sophomore year or have recently graduated may also be considered.
- A minimum GPA of 3.6 is highly preferred.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have Permanent Resident status.
- Must be able to complete 8-12 hours of independent, online CITI training (required for participation in human subjects/clinical research) by April 30.
- Must be available to participate full-time (at least 40 hours per week) from May 27 through August 14, 2026.
