Penn Summer Undergraduate Internship Program
The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program (SUIP) at the University of Pennsylvania provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to engage in biomedical research under the mentorship of faculty members. This 10-week program is designed to give students hands-on research experience, exposure to the academic environment of a top-tier medical school, and insight into the process of scientific inquiry. Participants will also attend seminars, workshops, and social events aimed at preparing them for careers in biomedical sciences.
2026 program dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026 (10 weeks; tentative move‑in May 30–31).
Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student in a four-year college.
- Preference is given to rising juniors and seniors. Must be enrolled for fall semester after program ends.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Members of underrepresented minority groups, disadvantaged backgrounds, with disabilities, or who attend small colleges are encouraged to apply.
