Hoyas for Science Scholarship

stablished in 2015, the Hoyas for Science merit scholarship aims to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion within Georgetown University's Biomedical Graduate Education community. The scholarship is awarded to newly admitted students in BGE master's degree programs who have a record of superior academic achievement and whose holistic experiences—including educational, familial, cultural, economic, social/community, or other individual life experiences—uniquely position them to enrich the BGE community.

Scholarship Benefit:

  • Covers 20% of tuition costs for one academic year.
  • Scholarship funds are applied each semester (maximum of 2 semesters) to the student account before the bill due date.
  • Recipients must begin their program in the Fall semester and remain enrolled full-time with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to receive the scholarship for the Spring semester.
  • The scholarship offer cannot be deferred to a future semester.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must have a record of superior academic achievement, including factors such as grade point average, honors, or other designations.
  • Must have submitted an application for admission to an eligible BGE master's program to start in the Fall semester.
  • Demonstrated commitment to biomedical research and graduate studies at the master's level.
