LSE Graduate Support Scheme
The LSE Graduate Support Scheme (GSS) provides approximately £3 million annually in need-based funding to Home and Overseas students pursuing diploma and taught master’s programmes at LSE. Awards range from £5,000 to £20,000 and are designed to supplement existing or expected funding, covering the calculated shortfall in tuition fees and living costs rather than providing full funding. The scheme is means-tested based on financial need, not academic merit, and outcomes are typically provided within 24 hours via the Graduate Applicant Portal after submission of the online application.
Awards are applied first to tuition fees (partial coverage; students pay the balance), with any remainder disbursed for living costs in instalments via BACS. For multi-year programmes, awards apply initially to the 2026/27 session and are renewable subject to satisfactory progress and unchanged circumstances. Supporting documentation such as income proofs, loan statements, and scholarship letters may be required, and awards can be reviewed or withdrawn if circumstances change or information is inaccurate.
Applicants must have a conditional or unconditional offer by the deadline and access the application via the Graduate Applicant Portal after submitting an admission application. Unsuccessful GSS applicants are automatically considered for other LSE scholarships, with notifications through July 2026. No applications accepted post-enrollment.
