Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi — Physician Residency Program
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi runs internationally accredited (ACGME-International) physician residency training programs, offering US-model postgraduate specialty training in the United Arab Emirates, where residents train in a large multispecialty academic hospital under structured supervision. Applications are made once a year through the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) Medical Education Abu Dhabi (MEAD) portal, with the window running 1–31 March. UAE nationals are prioritised for accredited posts, but many programs consider highly qualified non-nationals; some programs are restricted to UAE nationals by annual workforce policy.
Eligibility Requirements
- Medical degree; cumulative medical-school GPA ≥ 3.0 (4.0 scale) or equivalent
- Meet DOH Abu Dhabi licensure and MEAD criteria
- English-language proficiency (e.g. TOEFL iBT ≥ 80 / IELTS Academic ≥ 6.5)
- Strong USMLE Step 1 / Step 2 CK (or equivalent) results preferred
